for the narrative of my video i am aiming to incorporate several theories into my final product. these will be used in both the videos narrative element and the band performance shots. as said by derrida no text is without a genre so i have researched similar music videos, many by the band who's song i am doing, and i have found several themes that i will use in my video. these include a dark thme but not necessarily depressive, as they mainly tell storys of downtrodden individuals finding happiness or acceptance. they are more adult and show the gritty realism of life more, with relationships and school being common themes. this is keeping with the structuralism of the genre, keeping the typical elements and also adding my own ideas to mediate the required result.i will also use intertextuality in my video, recreating some typical moments in other music videos to add to my own desired effect.
